I updated my Pixel 2 on August 5 to Android 9 and immediately lost the ability to upload to history with an "Unable to connect" error. I have tried uninstalling and re-installing the app and rebooting, which has worked in the past with similar issues. Game playing is working including the competitions, just uploading is affected.
I thought I sent an email from the phone, about a week ago, but received no response. Looking it up, I can not find it right now.
Is anyone else experiencing problems with upload?
Does anyone else use Android 9?
If you need more information, please let me know. I'm willing to help in any way possible.

We are aware of this issue and are working on a fix. It has to do with Android upgrading to the latest OS version (Pie).

Yes, I noticed the upload error right after my OTA update to Android 9 Pie in my Pixel 2 device.
My email message went to Genina support on August 20th 2018.

I sent a message to Genina August 19, immediately after I updated android. They have promised a fix "soon" - the last time (of three) it was "within a week or two, maybe sooner." That would be more reassuring if the message hadn't been sent on September 3rd!

The fix is out for about a month now. Have you updated yours? I hope it is understood that app fixes take time and effort and that estimated delivery time are just that - estimates.
